RE/MAX Experts Headquarters

Bringing together agents from multiple RE/MAX locations into a single headquarters was about more than consolidation—it was about connection and experience. This new 10,000-square-foot corporate hub in the Greater Toronto Area now serves as Ontario’s largest RE/MAX brokerage, home to more than 320 agents.

From the moment you enter the space, it’s clear this headquarters was designed to do it all. The SESCO Design Build (SESCO) team was tasked with creating a work environment that supports focus, collaboration, and flexibility.

Mike Squadrilla (Owner and Broker of Record) selected SESCO because of their stellar reputation and their turnkey design build structure. The family-owned team at SESCO was handed a formidable challenge: bring a complex vision to life in just one year—balancing acoustics, aesthetics, indoor air quality, and the overall occupant experience without compromise.

The design team turned to Rockfon acoustical ceiling solutions, including Rockfon Artic®, Chicago Metallic® Drywall Grid, Rockfon® Infinity™ D Perimeter Trim, Ultraline Grid Systems™,  Rockfon Island™ stone wool frameless cloud ceiling panels, and Rockfon Mono Acoustic® to meet both the acoustical and aesthetic demands of the project. Combined, these products delivered a space that performs quietly in the background while empowering agents front and center.

The Goal

The vision began as a sketch on paper. RE/MAX Experts needed a high-performance workplace that functions efficiently while fostering creativity, inspired by office spaces like Adidas and Google. A space that needed to feel like home, because it’s one thing to work in the business of homes, and another to embody it.

Sound control across open and enclosed spaces, long-term durability, and timeless aesthetics were top design priorities and critical to ensuring the space could support the energy and pace of a growing brokerage. Every element had to contribute to an elevated environment that attracts top talent and fosters meaningful collaboration at scale, from glass-walled boardrooms and collaborative nooks to training areas, event spaces, and a dedicated podcast room.

The Challenge

Designing and building a space that felt both inviting and inspiring within a 10,000 sq ft. footprint was no small feat. Add approximately 50 private offices, boardrooms, kitchens, a podcast studio, meeting areas, and event spaces, and the project quickly became complex. The 12-foot+ ceiling heights presented unique challenges. In smaller offices, the tall ceilings made proportions feel awkward, and oversized windows had to be carefully considered to maintain a comfortable scale.

Spaces intended for events and speaker sessions demanded particular attention. Acoustics, sightlines, and flexibility were all critical to ensure every presentation or gathering could function seamlessly without interruption. Thoughtful customization was essential to ensure smooth, seamless integration, while material selection balanced acoustic performance with aesthetics delivering clean, defined lines and a cohesive, elevated environment across all the diverse spaces.

The Solution

For more than 20 years, Rockfon has been a trusted constant in SESCO’s material palette.  Pamela Milenkovic (Lead Interior Designer of SESCO Design Build) appreciates Rockfon products’ performance benefits, including reliable sound absorption with excellent sag, mold, and mildew resistance. When Squadrilla saw them in action at the design team’s office during a consultation, it was an obvious choice for this multi-functional workplace in supporting occupant health.

Across all spaces, Rockfon products offered fast, clean installation with no dust or mess, seamlessly integrating into the ceiling systems. Rockfon’s products are also supported with light reflectance (LR) which can impact occupants' well-being and mood. Too much light may lead to headaches and lack of focus and drowsiness. Rockfon acoustical stone wool ceiling panels reflect up to 86 percent of available light, dispersing natural light more effectively.

Rockfon® Infinity™ Standard Perimeter Trim in the reception delivered smooth, defined edges that unify the design from the moment you enter. Rockfon® Island™ stone wool frameless acoustical cloud panels were selected in the training room. This space was designed for 60+ agents and daily seminars, motivational sessions, and marketing presentations. These panels accomplished excellent acoustic performance while creating an inspiring ceiling that supports focus, engagement, and collaboration.

In private offices, Rockfon Artic® acoustic ceiling tiles with stone wool maintain privacy for agents without compromising aesthetics. The boardroom used Rockfon Mono® Acoustic ceilings to achieve precise acoustic control—delivering the drywall-like look with the performance of a high-absorbing material. This product also meets Class A fire performance and is inherently moisture resistant in a continuous, monolithic finish.

These Rockfon products were complemented by ROCKWOOL AFB® stone wool batt insulation in the interior partitions to support acoustical goals and fire performance.
