Indoor environment

ROCKFON® stone wool ceilings offer low particle emission and excellent insulating properties.

Indoor air quality

UL Environment states that indoor air can be 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. ROCKFON takes the necessary steps to ensure indoor air quality is safe for building inhabitants.

ROCKFON stone wool ceiling tiles are made of water-repellent stone wool. Stone wool has no nutritional value and therefore it provides no sustenance to harmful micro-organisms.

All ROCKFON stone wool acoustic ceiling solutions are GREENGUARD Gold certified to GREENGUARD standards for low chemical emissions into indoor air during product usage. The certification process ensures that a product is suitable for environments such as schools and healthcare facilities as well taking into consideration safety factors that may impact the vulnerable such as children and seniors. Due to their low particle emission, Rockfon® Medical™ products meet stringent requirements for air cleanliness in healthcare and clean room environments. Rockfon® Medical™ products are classified ISO Class 5 in accordance with ISO14644-1, which corresponds with Class 100 of US Federal Standard 209E.

ROCKFON specialty metal ceilings and Chicago Metallic suspension systems have no reportable VOC’s in the finished product.

Thermal insulation

Stone wool is an excellent insulator and a vital component of an energy-efficient building. Rockfon® Facett™combines good thermal insulation and sound absorption.

For maximum thermal insulation, we recommend avoiding thermal bridges and performing condensation-risk analysis on the building.
