Dental clinic’s ceilings support healing architecture
Coastal Maine Pediatric Dentistry features ROCKFON ceilings
Helping children achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy smiles, Dr. Emily Scholl and her staff at Coastal Maine Pediatric Dentistry “are committed to providing our patients with the highest standard of individualized dental care in a pleasant and comfortable environment.”
Demonstrating their commitment to these young patients in Brunswick, Maine, the dental office applied the principles of healing architecture including privacy, company, dignity; comfort and control; and interior appearance. ROCKFON® Artic™ stone wool acoustic panels with Chicago Metallic suspension systems contribute to these design attributes and to creating a beautiful, comforting and healing environment.
For Coastal Maine Pediatric Dentistry’s office, the design team selected Artic panels with a square lay-in edge design for an economical solution. The smooth, white surface of Artic panels provides high (0.85 LR) light reflectance to enhance illumination in the office interior. Supporting patient comfort and safety, Artic panels offer standard sound absorption (NRC = 0.75) and high fire performance.
These ROCKFON stone wool ceiling panels also have earned UL® Environment’s GREENGUARD Gold Certification for low-emitting products, a benefit associated with indoor air quality and recognized by LEED, CHPS and CALGreen. Installing contractors also appreciate that the panels are lightweight, easy to carry and simple to install into the Chicago Metallic 1200 15/16-inch ceiling suspension system.
Something To Look At
Also mounted to the ceilings above Coastal Maine Pediatric Dentistry’s patient chairs are artwork and televisions to further enhance the patient experience.
“Excellent facility,” commented one patient’s parent. “As soon as you walk through the door you feel like you are in a top notch dentist office.”
“The office is gorgeous!” praised another patient’s mother. “They have TVs on the ceiling for kids to watch, while in the chair and they get headphones to hear the show of their choice. Everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. … My son didn’t want to leave.”
