ROCKFON and NGC Testing Services will co-present research findings at INTER-NOISE 2015
ROCKFON presents ceiling system acoustic ratings and speech privacy research at INTER-NOISE, exhibits in booth #113
During INTER-NOISE’s core technical sessions, Aug. 9-12, ROCKFON and NGC Testing Services will co-present research findings on the effects of noise flanking paths on Ceiling Attenuation Class (CAC) ratings of ceiling systems and inter-room speech privacy.
The session’s presenters will be Gary Madaras, Ph.D., Assoc. AIA, ASA, INCE, acoustic specialist with ROCKFON in North America, and Andrew Huer, senior acoustical test engineer with NGC Testing Services of Buffalo, New York.
Session attendees will learn that common ceiling system noise-flanking paths, such as open return air grilles and recessed lights, prevented inter-room speech privacy. CAC ratings were decreased by 10 decibels and high frequency noise transmission was increased over 20 decibels. This resulted in making the sound transmitting from one room into another four times more annoying or distracting.
Following the August presentation, a co-authored paper on ROCKFON and NGC Testing Services research findings also will be included in INTER-NOISE’s published proceedings.
INTER-NOISE 2015: 44th International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. Expo hours are: Aug. 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Aug. 11, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Aug. 12, 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
During the exposition, ROCKFON also will be exhibiting its complete line of acoustic ceiling solutions in booth #113. Creating beautiful, comfortable and durable spaces, ROCKFON’s products help protect people from noise and the spread of fire, while making a constructive contribution towards a sustainable future.
INTER-NOISE is sponsored by the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE) and is organized by the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the United States of America (INCE/USA). ROCKFON and its company representatives participate in INCE, as well as:
